Oh come now, he wasn't that bad. But some of his lines are more than just a bit ridiculous.
The acting isn't bad at all. Metal Gear Solid is known for having some of the best voice acting in video games.

I agree. The voice performances in the Metal Gear Solid series are generally very solid and good.
