Not at all, but I enjoy the Dragon Quest series tremendously.
Final Fantasy XII was a great game but I seriously want to tell Square-Enix:
"Don't you ever pull sh*t like this again."
The battle system was interesting when I played the demos, but anyone who's ever played an MMORPG will tell you it's nothing new, and all throughout the demo I questioned how they could possibly make the boss battles as dramatic as in previous games, and the answer I got is that they didn't. I'm in no way bashing the game, it's just frustrating waiting all those years for the next installment in Final Fantasy, when all we got was merely a very high quality RPG.
On topic, what I'm trying to say is, Enix delivers, and you can count on them to give you that experience when you purchase a game. Final Fantasy, for all of its innovation, lost a step when it tried so hard to be something it can never be - a western RPG. Don't get me wrong, they're fun games, but I would never rank a western RPG anywhere near a DQ or FF.
I dont really prefer DQ's battle system, but I find it very tolerable to not let it bother me
Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"
