Direct Your Golden Sun Love Here, Please. That is All.

I picked up bith games at GameStop today for only $17!

I used to have these, but my brother's friend stole them the week before he moved. I've always been meaning to pick up another set. It's been in the back of my mind. The FAR back.

I haven't played these in years! I've forgotten everything about them, except their general appearance. I'm so excited to get playing after my DS is recharged and ready to go.

These games really helped solidify my love for the GBA. It's still my favorite platform, and it's great my DS doubles as a GBA.

Thoughts? Opinions? All Golden Sun fanboy love goes here, no matter how dated this topic is.

Golden Sun had automatic love from me, being in the same spirit/atmosphere as the old Shining Force series

Golden Sun is fantastic. I've played the first one like a million times.

There needs to be a third one now.

Both are very great games. Best RPGs on the GBA IMO

Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

I was so happy when I unlocked the Golden Sun music in brawl.

There needs to be a sequel!

Wow. Never thought of it! Always must have felt one was enough. If the graphics were smokin' on the GBA, I wonder what kind of graphics they could be pumping out for DS gameplay!

I'm usually not much into portables, but I'm kind of wanting a DS (in no small part thanks to its GBA backwards-compatability: it does have that, right!?). If I get one, both of these games were ones that I've had my eye on for a whiiiile (along with Boktai, and Aria of Sorrow; not to mention stuff for the DS itself that I want). I think they sound absolutely stellar, and well... Camelot rocks. Think these two games are worth purchasing one for?
Currently playing: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

You'll think of it when you beat The Lost Age. :P I won't spoil the ending for you, but it does leave things open for a sequel.

Just these two games? No, because they're GBA games and you can get a GBA for, like, pennies now. :P Get a DS because they're awesome, though. xP

    *directs love*

On the subject of Boktai, you may want to skip the 2 GBA games and go straight for Lunar Knights on the DS. It retains all the great gameplay plus more, but ditches the solar sensor (though if you use any of the 2/3 Boktai games with Lunar Knights, you can use the solar sensor from the GBA game)

    But yeah, Golden Sun.

If you do get a DS, buy these games. They're dirt cheap now, and are a must-have if you have a GBA and love RPGs.

Playing the first one now, but progress is slow because that's just how I am. So far I'm loving it.

Love Golden Sun to death. Have both games.

I like how absolutely deep the battle system. That's the main thing that keeps me playing, really. The games really remind me of a mix of Shining Force and Beyond the Beyond (two other Camelot RPGs that I love the hell out of).

Oh, and Camelot said in a recent magazine (I think it may have been EGM) that they're considering making a third Golden Sun sometime. Gives us a small bit of hope as to seeing another GS game.
Xenogears is the tragic story of how your whole life can take a crappy turn, just because you happened to see a lady in a wedding dress before her wedding.
