So my mum was watching some 'I'll do anything' program with people auditioning to play the role of Nancy in Oliver Twist the musical. The presenter guy wore a red jacket, and I was told he was gay. I was also told that the judges were also gay.

So, on British tv we have loads of gay presenters and loads of gay people in general. Shows how far we have come. It almost seems like its an advantage to be gay.


So my question is, are there many/any gay presenters on American tv? Are they as common as they are in Britain?



EDIT: Lol, it was so funny. One of the male panelists on the program was going 'You know, Jesse, you just dont excite me.' So Jesse says 'What can I do to excite you then?' And he goes 'I dont know. Believe me, a lotta women have been asking me the same question.'

If you happen to be a gay stereotype who works in a stereotypically gay industry, I think you have a better chance of ending up on TV these days. Like those Queer Eye for the Straight Guy guys.

^Well, the presenter guy looked slightly gay. The panelists who were gay didnt really. Although Im not the best at spotting gay people.

But most gay people on tv are the stereotype. I used to think all gay people were like that originally.

Omg gay tv would rock I would watch all their cooking shows and design shows Here in Portugal we don't have many tv presenters that are gay but we do have one humorist who presented lots of shows, that was gay! We also have literarly tons of girls presenting shows far more than guys so :rolleyes2

Most of the gay guys on TV are either acting gay, or secretly hiding they are gay. Actually its not easy to find gay actors/performers. Most are either in theaters, in fashion or in the closet.

Graham Norton used to be on here. It was canceled. That made me . He was so funny.

There are plenty of people on TV here who are gay. Some are like Ellen Degeneres, though. She's a lesbian, but she rarely brings this up during her program, nor lets it define her. She's just a funny lady who likes to dance a lot, that happens to love the ladies.

Also, I didn't know there was a difference between being British and being gay. *zing!*
