I've always found Will and Grace refreshing because its topic hadn't been much discussed on TV. Its "sitcomness" seemed atypical. I found myself "roflmao"-ing more in it than I had with shows like Frasier, Friends, Home Improvement, etc. Its writing was also very nice.

I fully agree. It's probably the sitcom that's made me laugh out loud the most.
Also, John Barrowman auditioned for the role of Will, but apparently he was "too straight" :P But meh, Eric McCormick (sp?) is a great Will, so I really don't care that Barrowman did not get the role. I guess it worked out for the best.
