    Sigh...

Well, I hope they do this properly and they are enjoyable films. What do you guys think?

Damn, what's up with all the actor changes with John Connor?

Anyway, I'm not worried about these films being done improperly, Omecle. I don't believe most people watch the terminator films to see phenomenal acting or groundbreaking cinematography, at least I know I don't. Should be cool.

I just want to know why machines are always trying to destroy humanity.

Well, I suppose if it's done right then that'll be ok... but honestly, I think the 'apocalyptic war between man and machine' thing could render it all very dull and unfeeling. The earlier Terminator movies were all set in 'our' world, with settings and events and character motivations we can understand and relate to. More reality, less science fiction. Any movie set during the war is going to go in the other direction: characters whose backgrounds and environments are beyond anything we can understand.
I'm thinking of the Matrix movies: when they take place within the familiar environment of the Matrix, it all feels more human and more like something we can connect to. When it's just some guys in futuristic war machines fighting against evil robots in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, it loses that familiarity and becomes a whole lot more generic.

The series ended for me with Judgment Day. Everything to come after that just mucks with the elegance of the original story and is best ignored.

They can make as many of these movies as they like, Terminator 2 will still be the only good one.

Prejudice. It makes it easier for us to enslave thinking beings once we build them. Which of course, will lead to the robot uprisings and subsequent war!

As much as I want to say this, the fact that Christian Bale is involved has me more interested in this new movie than I should be. Still, there's a reason I never watched anything beyond the second Terminator movie with my fiance (who hadn't seen them).

Sucks that the rumors that Eddy Furlong was going to reprise his role as John Connor werent true. Christian Bale is still a good choice though.

Ill watch this movie like the lemon that I am, only for a slab of action porn. They will never be able to have that perfect balance of story and action like they did in the first two films.

I hope Schwarzenegger knows the importance that he makes a cameo in this movie. You cannot have a Terminator film without him.

He should play the President, or highest ranking political individual among the remaining Humans.

I love how some people are acting like the first two Terminator movies were high art.

The first two movies were entertaining but not as perfect or great as everyone says they are, in my eyes atleast. I'm looking forwards to the new movies and I'm a big fan of Christian Bale.

High art? No. But the first was enjoyable, and the second is one of the best action movies ever made.

I don't mean to say they were. It's just that everything to come after them is so much worse, obviously not part of the original vision, and churned out solely to capitalize on the franchise's name.
