    Default [A] Recent Artwork

As you can see I've been a busy kitty. I haven't posted anything in a while. I've been trying out lots of different materials inlcuding sketching pencils, water colours and charcoal. I'm trying to expand my range of materials I use.

This is one I did today actually. I just used sketching pencils and I just noticed that I need to fix his chin.

I did this one with charcoal. This is the first time I used charcoal so it's a bit different. :mog:

    I used charcoal again here.

I forgot what I used here but I think it was with sketching pencils and white chalk.

Finally this one is with sketching pencils and water colours. I could of work on it better but moved on.

Well tell me what you think guys. I know it's alot but I've been too busy to post them. Give me your thoughts and opinions.

    I want a puppy xD

Really good coloring on that last one

Only thing really constructive I can suggest is that with noses (especially on 3 quarter views) you should maybe only define one side of the nose. Use shading to define the other :]

I like the outfits and hairstyles :D

I suck at noses but I'm working on it. I don't think I'm a very good drawer tbh, but I enjoy it. I shoudln't of posted so many and spread my pictures out.

You have some nice technique, but it looks way too much like you draw from what you know goes where, rather than knowing the shape of something or drawing from what you see. Referenced work would probably improve that I think as starters. Sorry if I sound like some grumpy analyst.. ;)

Other than that though I like the dog, its very well done!

I can see where you are coming from. I took art a loooong time ago and was taught little. I do use those lines and try to put everything in the right place. Although all the drawing except for the puppy and the charcoal girl are all from my imagination not from what I can see.

They're looking good Ms. Mitten! My only comment would be that I'm noticing a trend of straight on face portraits in your drawings. Drawing faces from different angles, like the first of the charcoal ones above, might help you iron out some of the problems you're having and give you more control over what you're drawing(if that makes sense).
