Yep, I died my hair black. As much as I fetish for red head girls, my natural hair color is to dark for it to stay for more than a week or two so I gave up. The color I get when red fades out is disgusting. I was worried black would make me look too sickly (because I'm pale), but I actually think it did the opposite. Lighter hair made me look kind of bleh, but this makes me look so healthy and energized.
And I don't think I look gothic either, which is good. I just look really freaking Italian. My Dad was happy beyond belief. He said that I look like a nice Italian girl again. If I had a tan, I would look SOB (straight of the boat, not the other acronym) eyetie like my father.

hair dye attempts never seem to turn out the color i want them too.
this time it was supposed to be bright red....
and i got purple instead.
You always said I looked grumpy. But those were the happiest days of my life.
Do you bleach your hair before hand? as that's the only way to get a vibrant colour for dark hair, which sucks. I even got a blue hair dye that was especially for darker hair, and it didn't go blue at all

Bleaching your hair works if you want to go for the color red that's in the rainbow. If you want a more natural red, then I wouldn't suggest bleaching
Plus dyes take a lot longer in lighter hair. And you're supposed to wait between treatments so if you're in a hurry bleach is counter productive
Also. You girls tend to take really good care of your hair. If your hair is well conditioned and moisturized, it won't soak in dyes very well. Shampoo without conditioner and blow dry first maybe. Dry it out a bit so it'll be more ready to soak up some color :D

And of course, because I like to pretend I'm a movie star, I had to take a picture with my pervy shades - the ones that obscure 3/4s of my face so that I can stare at people.
