are dragoons supposed to come down after they jump or is my emulator just glitching?

it's funny because the game freezes when they're supposedly on the ground (monster attacks hurt them, but the damage shows up in the corner of the screen, there aren't any sprites etc), if you try to target them with an antidote for example. yay.
