CT: defeated black tyrano got rainbow shell, what next?

so i decided to do the giants claw sidequest to get the rainbow shell. now i that i have the rainbow shell i took it to 600ad and gave it to the king, went to 1000ad and went back to the castle and its in lockdown. i found a chest with a hyperether but thats about all i can find access to besides a (locked chest).

i have been looking in the walk through section but it does not discuss side quests that much

Don't you need to buy some jerky and give it to Marle's dad to piss him off and have him lock himself in his room...? Or have you done that? Or is that another sidequest? x_x

Edit: I lied, go talk to the king in 1000 AD with Marle in your party and he'll explain that he's being framed. Once that happens, you can go to the new section of the castle and you should be good from there.

I never had to give Marle's dad jerky, I always thought that was for the Moon Stone/Sun Stone sidequest. He always appeared to be on trial after I went to visit him in 1000 AD after defeating the Rust Tyrano.
