Sure, but I think he was complaining more about the number of "****-gargling hours" needed to unlock everything, and how that detracted from the immediate multi-playablity(?) of the game. Spending the first umpteen hours of a gathering simply unlocking the characters everyone wants to use would be a bit of a downer...
I quite liked the blatant snark in the small print at the end of the Brawl review:While the reviews do focus on comedy, I think they've generally got enough analysis of the game to be taken seriously as reviews. After all, even the Brawl review praised the game's concept, and the amount of work that'd gone into the single-player campaigns. And as the Portal and Psychonauts reviews show, he'll heap on the praise where he feels it's due, and even a game he claimed not to like all that much will get favourable treatment for its strong points.Not much point in writing everything here this week, everyone's already smurfed off to their favourite Nintendo forum to talk about how I'm not a "real" reviewer
