Thread: What music do you listen to?

Default What music do you listen to?

I listen to anything falling under the rock/metal thing. Um. I can do some top tens? Haha.

    Top Ten Fem Fronted Bands
    Evanescence (THE BEST)
Flyleaf (Lacey screams better than the guys in the business...)
Paramore (they are so amazing live)
Nightwish (symphonic metal from Finland. They've had a signer replacement as of 2006)
In This Moment (again. Maria screams better than the guys in the business)
Within Temptation (I believe they're Dutch. Sharon's voice goes really high. Haha. And her dance moves are splendiferous.)
The Morning Of (technically, they're boy/girl. But they're amazing pop punk)
The Dresden Dolls (Damn straight piano kicks ass, and you know it)
The Vincent Black Shadow (I can only describe Cassie's voice as sort of cabaret style. They're amazing, aside from the fact she has the misfortune to look a lot like Tila Tequila)
Tegan and Sara (If Hayley Williams likes them, they're good.)

    Top Ten Guy Bands
    Chiodos (hardcore + piano=love)
Saosin (Cove has lyrical/musical SKILLZ, babes)
Angels and Airwaves (That's Tom DeLonge from Blink-182, and everyone already knows he owns.)
Panic at the Disco (say what you like. you've got both albums hidden under your pillow.)
    Alesana (yaaaay screamo!)
Atreyu (I first saw them live last summer and got hookeD)
Dear and the Headlights (they were the opening act for Paramore/Jimmy Eat World's tour.)
Mayday Parade (they're simply amazing. I'm glad they hit it.)
Scary Kids Scaring Kids (who else could come up with such an amazing name? AND music?!)
The Early November (so sad they broke up...)

I love you for loving Chiodos. Of all of the music I used to listen to and don't really anymore, Chiodos is still one I can listen to and love.

Anyway, what I listen to now is very... well, random. I listen to pretty much whatever anyone recommends to me, as long as it isn't rap or country. Almost every music file on my computer is either folk/alternative, video game soundtrack and remixes, and anime soundtracks.

Mainly indie, rock, alternative rock. Maybe some punk and metal, too. :P

    Bands are:

    MUSE
    System of a Down
    Arctic Monkeys
    Bowling for Soup
    Barenaked ladies
    AC/DC
    Andrew WK
    Radiohead
    Gallows

I think that's about it, though. I don't listen to a lot of music, and just flat out don't like it if there's no guitar. D:

Edit: I forgot Barenaked Ladies. xD

Well they actually took their name from a song by the far superior Cap'n Jazz.

Their music is far from amazing. It's actually the opposite.

    And wrong forum.

Both traditional and contemporary folk music. The acoustic singer-songwriters of the 60's = <3. Though I shouldn't necessarily say "of the 60's", as most of them are still around and putting out material that's just as good. Those who started during the 60's.

    Top ten? Mmkay.

    1. Tom Paxton
    2. John Denver
    3. Phil Ochs
    4. The Kingston Trio
    5. James Taylor
    6. Pete Seeger
    7. Joni Mitchell
    8. The Chad Mitchell Trio
    9. Judy Collins
    10. Gordon Lightfoot

My favorite songs include "Thirsty Boots" by Eric Andersen, "Both Sides Now" by Joni Mitchell, and "American Pie" by Don McLean.

I will say it quickly and painlessly, Rengori's music fails at life.

    My Top 10 Songs
    1. Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You-Led Zeppelin
    2. While My Guitar Gently Weeps-The Beatles/George Harrison
    3. Reptilia-The Strokes
    4. Stairway To Heaven-Led Zeppelin
    5. Smells Like Teen Spirit-Nirvana
    6. Let It Be-The Beatles
    7. Carry On My Wayward Son-Kansas
    8. Paint It, Black-Rolling Stones
    9. Crazy On You-Heart
    10. Wonderwall-Oasis

    Honorable Mentions
    Dream On-Aerosmith
    Eleanor Rigby-The Beatles
    Black Magic Woman-Santana
Chant-(A song I wrote myself, with a smooth Santana-like feel mixed with some classic and progressive, that is constantly changing yet bridged together so wonderfully, it is the only musical piece of mine I am proud of.)

    The 70's kicked ass.

I mostly like metal, but give me techno and I'll listen to that happily.

    • Power and avant-garde metal (Sonata Arctica, Wintersun)
    • SIDcore and VG metal (Machinae Supremacy, Powerglove)
    • Symphonic metal (Nightwish, Within Temptation)
    • Gothenburg metal (In Flames, Dark Tranquility)
    • Metalcore (Still Remains, As I Lay Dying)
    • Pretty much any trance, electro and general techno

Basically that, minus the gay at the end.
You hold my heart in your manly hands I wanna feel the throb of your handsome gland. I wanna hold you tight like a newborn kitten, against my flesh like a cashmere mitten. Tickly tick, I'm makin' skin bump heaven and all the way down it's lookin' cleanly shaven. Prickety pricks, it's stubble on stubble I better slow down or I'm in real trouble. Want you, touch you, feel you, taste you! Knick knack whacky whack 'till I see the man stew. spin you around let me see that hole! I'm a tunnelin' in a like a short hair mole. Once I'm inside I'm gonna leave a trace, half in there and half on that face! One finger, two finger, there fingers gone! Mano a mano I love you John!
