Default Homemade Final Fantasy games on The interbutts

I would love to find a homebrew game, maybe not as homebrew as a MUD, but something similar just with graphics that utilizes the Final Fantasy job system or something very similar. I'm not talking about games *like* Final Fantasy, I want a homemade, Final Fantasy themed game, that's played over Java or Flash or even regular HTML. Hahaha I know it's an odd request, I'm just curious about what's out there.

If something like this doesn't exist, it really should. I think lots of people would play it. =)

Many fangames are made with RPG Maker, try searching "Final Fanrasy" for games on RPG Maker sites like these.

I'm making a NES-styled FF game, named 'Final Fantasy Memories'. Actually, I'm making a remake of it. XD The original version I made 2 years ago sucks by now it ain't even funny. Now it's going much better, I'm making it with gamemaker 6.1 registered. Currently working on the battle system. That's tough. Recreating turn-based battles as they were in FF III NES isn't easy. It's pretty far from finished, but after I have my battle system done, work should progress much faster. As for abilities, there's no job-system in the literal sense of the word, but you will be able to give abilities to each character, similiar to the Decant Ability system in IV DS.

And some guy made me a logo. ^^ (no FF game without a logo!)

As for fan-made things that are done, I know there's a NES remake of FF I out there, as well as a fan-made FF game that even made it to the FF wiki.

Truth to be told, there are so many attempts at fan-made FF games out there, so few ever get done.

Yeah, the thing is, I'm not exactly looking for FF Fangames. I'm not looking for a homemade "alternate universe" or even just "unique/new universe" single player game. I'm looking for something that's multiplayer and people can use/change jobs for their character in a (likely simplified) battle system. Would be neat, I think. Like a free/unofficial "mmo" that's very very stripped down and basic, closer to a MUD really but with graphics.

    Anything like this around?

I think that's harder. Making MMORPG's on your own, or even with a team, really isn't easy, trust me. It'sh ard enough making a single-player RPG, even with my 5 years of experience with gamemaker. More powerful programs often also mean more difficulty making difficult games. Sorry to dissapoint, but I don't think you'll find something finished and of good quality like that. It's possible, I know a master of Gamestudio for example, could easily make that, but... hmm, I really don't know. It seems too complex or too hard to make.

I know many users of gamemaker have tried making MMORPG's, but so rarely do they get finished and even more rarely (or in fact, never) you can switch jobs or something alike. Still, out there somewhere, there might be a game like that. I don't know, I don't really keep track of all the free-made games out there. It's hard enough making my own while doing my other daily stuff. Sorry to not be able to help.

There's FFV: Another World. Last time I played it (over a year ago) though the lag was pretty terrible.
