If they do it the same way as FF3 and FF4, I'm not too interested. >_> But, hey, I'll buy it anyway.

I'd rather it be upped to 3D, but I bet this will be just a 2D just like Front Mission...
that seems what it's like from the Square-Enix press release and what all the sites are saying.
I'm glad they're doing it, I know alot of people will be thrilled, but I'd be more inclined to buy a remake. CT has great graphics as it is (just cause it's not 3d doesn't mean it's not good graphics), so I think the emulator on my PS3's Linux or my laptop with some speakers will due just fine.
I haven't played Chrono Cross in so long cause I got rid of my PS2, so they should port that as well, because it was hard as hell finding it the first time.

Doesn't seem to hard to find it to me. Brand new, even!
You could play it on your PS3 with backward compatibility, play it on an emulator on your PC, or hack it to the PSP! I'm doing the third option with my copy; I have a perfectly working PS2, but you can't beat portability.
I love the way this, SE's most shameless cash-grab yet, is the thing that has redeemed them in the eyes of many naysayers. When it's Final Fantasy they're "milking the cash cow" but when it's Chrono Trigger they're "making the game accessible for the younger generation".
I don't see how this is a shameless cash-grab. They're making a great game that's damn near impossible to find on the SNES and unplayable on the PlayStation available, that not only adds wireless features, but makes it portable as well-- something many fans have been wanting for quite some time now.
The few new features they're adding don't justify the inevitable $40 price tag, especially when SE had the option of releasing it on virtual console for much cheaper. Maybe SE will surprise us and release it at budget price but I seriously doubt it.
Point is, ports like this are pretty much the same thing SE has been doing for a while now. I'm surprised people (and not just people here, it's like this on every RPG board I've been to) are viewing this one in a more optimistic light.
This will only be its second (but first good) port. The PSX rerelease wasn't recent either. It isn't like I&II's 6 ports, or even IV's 4 ports. Now THAT'S milking the cash-bull.
(SPOILER)SEE WHAT I DID THAR?
Well, in my case, I can't find the SNES cartridge anywhere that isn't $50+. Also, the PlayStation port is so damn awful that I can't stomach playing it for more than 30 minutes.
What's good about this is that it's portable and has a few new features. And if you don't like the price, you don't have to buy it right away (with any luck the price will decline) or at all, even-- no one said you had to. It's for the fans of the game, pretty much. I don't see anything wrong with this. And besides, old Square games are so much better than the newer ones. < /blatant opinion>
Yup.No matter where you go, people while and bitch about series milking and endless remakes and sequels, but that doesn't seem to stop them from squealing like pigs in
whenever a new one is announced. Then they justify it with "Well, this is different because this is a game I want to play again."
I'm just glad Square finally remembered that they've made games other than Final Fantasy before...
I really hope that if this does well they at least think about reviving the Chrono series. At least for one more game.
One more game would be incredible. I freaked out about this game the way my Diablo fanatic friends freaked about Diablo III the other day. I think 3D would be cool, and I'm thankful that it's the same story and everything with a dungeon addition (if that's correct).
