A word up to the folks in this thread that I might have trouble coming because I'm running very low in the bank right now, and this meet up is going to cost me about $200-$300 dollars between all of the costs, that I just don't HAVE right now. I'm going to see what I can do with the money, and I'll try my best, but I'd figure I'd warn people sooner than later.
Again, hope you can make it Rye. But no pressure for anybody to show up (I do hope however that I don't end up seeing 3 people show up - Denmark, Ko Ko, Shiny) I mean it would be wicked to have a meet up with a small amount of people -- I just hope it will be larger.
Closer to the meet up day I will try to figure out what people will be doing and if they need a ride from Penn Stn to the New Yorker Hotel (I don't know anything about distances). I'd like to be able to just go to the hotel and get all of that nasty business out of the way but if not, I'm okay for chauffeuring people to the hotel.
- Chelsea Star is unavailable
- New Yorker rooms cost 400$, and I rounded down. That works out to about 50$ a person. 40$ if Misfit/Jowy shows up
What to do? We could split up into two groups and some of you can take Ko Ko's hospitality. The rest of us can find something affordable out of the area (I has car after all)
Or I can keep looking. Or you can suggest a room. I'm just the organizer here ;p
Well it's not affordable for everybody. I know for a fact that a certain somebody who I'd like to meet would find the price tag of staying troublesome.
There's definitely going to be better options but I don't know if we'd like to settle. There's places I can get that are as low as 30$ a night, with availability. But do we really want to stay at a 2 star hotel? o_O
edit: Ultimately it's up to you guys what to do. We could delay the meetup (I won't be able to meet any that happens after Nov 21st) or you can tell me what you think. Ultimately I saw the 50$ a person for one night and freaked. However the other prices aren't that much better. There simply aren't any hotels in the 150-200 (20-25$ per person) range that I can find. The 24$ room just screams 'ew' to me, even if we're just going to sit there.
The hotels above works out to be around 30$ a person. The New Yorker is 20$ more than that. It's your call guys.
Judging from Denmark's reaction we have two people who are 'game for anything'. I'll be spending so much money driving to NYC that it doesn't matter where I stay (ie I can stay at the new yorker, as that is the most we're going to pay)
I don't mind where we stay at (soooo helpful, I know ). I think it would be best to find a place that is affordable, decent and easy to get to. if we have to vote, I vote Pan American
Edit: I already bought my bus ticket for next weekend, so I'm kinda stuck coming.
