With rumors circling about a 360 motion controller, a new Halo game, and the recently-announced 60GB unit and corresponding system price drop, it's anyone's guess what Microsoft actually has in store for us this year.

The Big Stuff
Final Fantasy XIII will be released on the Xbox 360 outside of Japan.
--Resident Evil 5 (March 13, 2009) will feature 2-player co-op.
--Fable 2 (October 2008) will feature co-op.
--Fall Update will bring new dashboard, avatars, Netflix movie streaming, ability to store games on HDD, 16:10 support, and more.
--Portal: Still Alive coming to XBLA later this year.
--Geometry Wars 2 coming in August, features 4-player co-op.
--Gears of War 2 (November 7, 2008) features a 5-player co-op mode called "Horde" where players take on waves of Locusts.

Avatars (developed by Rare, for what it's worth) look like you'll get more stuff regularly, and even from games. Perhaps achievements will get you some game-related threads.

I was curious as to how Microsoft would branch out to the more casual crowd, this seems pretty good.

The Live Party feature seems really cool. Launching games instantly, sharing media (including Netflix rented movies), good stuff.

I don't really like the new look for the Dashboard, but the features it's bringing are starting to look pretty damn great. The group feature for up to 8 people is awesome; you can simultaneously chat, move your party to various games, or even stream the same movie simultaneously.

Also, Geometry Wars 2 looks smurfing crazy. And Galaga could be good; Pac-Man CE was awesome.

I get the feeling everything they announce which is related to movies is US only. Hmmm.

Oh and when they showed Galaga I thought I was still watching Geomatry Wars. Thats not good.
