Because right now I could probably get $50 out of it, after buying it new for only $15.

If there is a port for PSP or a PS3 remake, the value will undoubtedly go down. Right now the only [legal] way to play it is on the PS1. If new ways are made available, then there are less chances I charge an arm and a leg for it over eBay.

So, we must do whatever it takes to prevent this game from rereleasing in any way!

A thing is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

Meaning, I think I can get 50 for every FF game FFVII and lower.

And then we have crazy people who want games to be worth this: http://forums.eyesonff.com/chrono-tr...s-1-200-a.html

Yeah, 1,200$ for a mint chrono trigger.

Either way, I can't imagine it'd ever go lower than 50 bucks (if you're pricing it on E-Bay standards). FFIV just had a remake (as you know) and the FFII cartridge is still at 50 bucks at "retro gaming stores" (AKA MY PERSONAL HEAVEN) and on E-bay.

So yeah, being remade or not, with games that are no longer released even if it's one that's been remade tend to sell for the original selling price when it was first released, because if someone -really- wants that copy of the game, they'll usually have no problems buying a used game for a new game price because they don't have that game and/or their reasoning.

Example: I'd buy FFII(IV) and FFIII(VI) for 50$ each without a problem what so ever. I'd prolly even pay 50$ for FFVII if I chose to own the game again. My reasons are, child hood memories. In cases like these, you can put a price on memories, and as long as the price is under 100$ I'd be buying those memories back.

Why are you interested in profiteering anyway? And if you are, then maybe now's the time to take advantage of it if that's what you want. I'd rather keep my FFVII. To me 50 bucks isn't worth the hassle 'cause I'd eventually want it back. For Avarice's reasons

I don't want to sell it. I just want it to be worth lots of money so when I die my family will be rich! RICH I SAY!

    I wish they'd remake it :[

I have like 2 copies of it and a copy of the PC version somewhere. Well, it doesn't help me if they're lost and in the abyss of whatever.

If you don't intend to sell I wouldn't worry about its value regardless then :]

    xD Yeah.

I don't believe Video Games have a growing value like art work does.
