    Default AskSBar

So yeah. I found something called AskSBar on my computer, and it turns out to be an ask jeeves toolbar thing and also spyware.

I've been told that simply deleting the files the way you would any other file doesn't work.

    Help?

Have you tried AdAware? That should take care of it, I think.

Delete? Only computer savvy people delete spyware. Uninstall? That is probably what will not help you. It'll leave residue files. Which then must be deleted (that is, if it really is spy/ad/mal-ware)

What have you tried so far?

Deleting the program files won't kill it as it'll have added itself some regestry keys so it can come back from the grave, also System Restore will probably be a pain for you, as has already been suggested use adaware, and maybe Spybot Search and Destroy and maybe the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool.
