I don't understand, it's a mmorpg correct? How do you play this on a Nintendo DS?![]()

Like I said, I'm not sure. There aren't many details on it yet.
I'm not familiar in the slightest with Ragnarok. Obviously it'll be through Wi-Fi, and looking at what the game looks like it doesn't seem out of the DS' capabilities.Gameplay in Ragnarok Online DS doesn't differ too much from the PC, but has streamlined things a bit. Players control their character via the Touch Pen, which acts as the PC mouse. Players tap the screen to attack and retrieve and can draw little circles for spells and whatnot. Ragnarok Online DS lets up to 3 players team up over Wi-Fi. The game is out December 18th in Japan.

Ragnarok Online is a Korean MMORPG based on Norse Mythology. However, all of the characters are anime-based and rather cutesy-- right up my alley, of course.
What I don't understand is how one could play an MMORPG on the DS through Wi-Fi when RO itself lags a lot when there are a lot of players, even on a good computer.
The article seems to say that it won't be massively multiplayer. :/
certain anonymous posting video games board says that it plays like your standardty low rate RO server with two possibly Secret of Mana equivalent AI NPCs follow you around to assist with grinding. No Wi-Fi mentioned, local multiplayer seems doable.
how do i skillspam without keybinds though?!
Well either way, it sounds like fun.
EDIT: After seeing Jowy's post, I'm not so sure.
Seems cool! I haven't gotten into mmorpgs much. I used to own Final Fantasy XI and I played 30 hours or so, it was a great game, not sure why I stopped. I just started a trial of World of Warcraft for the first time, and I've played about six hours, it seems alright, I don't know what to do though.
I've never played Ragnarok Online although I've heard of it.
I've recently got some interest in joining a mmorpg. But I don't want to start one that's already out. I want to anticipate the best ones coming up and start the game the day it comes out.
I'm interested in these...
1. Final Fantasy XI is making a new mmorpg, code named Rapture, it could be using the trademark name Final Fantasy Haeresis XIII
2. World of Starcraft, Blizzard is making a new mmorpg not related to World of Warcraft. I don't think it's a new franchise and Diablo is too similar to Warcraft so I think it's set in the Starcraft universe.
3. The Elder Scrolls V, if Bethesda's next Elder Scrolls game turns out to be a mmorpg, I may buy it! I'd buy it anyway if it's not a mmorpg though.
I got off-topic, but check out the thread I've made on my topic...

Okay, RO is not like any of those, graphically. It's better for those whose computers can't handle the newer, more graphically advanced games, or it appeals to those of us who appreciate pixels over polygons.
R A G N A R O K Online
My computer can't handle the top games, let me buy Ragnarok Online!
Also, there's another great game, not an rpg but it's a mmo game, it's called Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates, check it out!!!!

I played RO a while back when it was still free and enjoyed it at the time. Lookin' back, they were simpler times. I don't think I could stand to spend any amount of time with it now :P Though I want to play Ragnarok Online 2 purely because Yoko Kanno did the soundtrack.
I'm not sure what the chances are of this coming out in English...
Gravity Corporation needs to focus on its presentation to the player rather than the gameplay to the player. Ragnarok Online is in sore need of a cohesive story and background similar to games with established mythos like World of Warcraft. The Nintendo DS game will be very shallow if it is a port of the PC version with some extra features and no method to play online on a server.
I believe in the power of humanity.
I like the RO Lore ._.
The Munak Scenario is pretty gewd~
I... I wanna play RO again, but Eric won't play with me.![]()
