I don't quite understand everyone's views.

First of all, we can all agree that FFVII was a great game regardless of what trolls say. It was big, beautiful, emotional, and adventurous.

When I first beat the game a long time ago it was the first time that I'd ever seen a story end with such an open ended conclusion. I loved how Eaerisu's face was shown at the end, right after the lifestream magically appeared to save the world from Sephiroth's meteor. Even in death she was able to use her power to save the world. We can guess from the final scene after the credits that Cloud and co. lived the rest of their lives in peace and Nanaki grew to be 100s of years old and even had children of his own. As the camera rises above the edge of the cliff we see the ruins of midgar, technology succumbed to nature. Geese fly overhead. The world is safe. The cycle continues. Cloud and his friends are all mixed in with the lifestream now, part of this fresh world. After /everything/ this is what has come.

Years since then, I've enjoyed the games many times over. Then something happened. Square Enix realized that they had fanboys. They started producing things like Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, and /everyone/ bought into it. Everyone was /so/ happy that they'd get a little more Final Fantasy VII. But these games aren't final fantasy vii. They're sarsaparillaty spinoffs with sarsaparillaty storylines. Advent Children did /not/ correspond with FFVIIs storyline. And to be honest, that doesn't bother me much. What really sucks is what a sarsaparillaty story it had. It was totally pointless and it didn't feel like ffvii it all. It was like a really lame chinese kung fu movie except with ffvii char faces pasted to everyone. =/

Crisis Core was the same, although I have to admit I loved the last scene. 8D

Dirge of Cerberus ... who the hell would even /want/ to play that.

And /now/! /NOW/, after all of these sarsaparillaty spinoffs (although I bet most of you guys loved them. I don't know how you could if you truely loved the original FFVII.) Everyone is asking for this /remake/. Are you all eyeless moneys? Why the /hell/ would you want something like that? You know what you're asking for?

"Hey SQUARE ENIX! Yeah, you! Hey that game you guys made like 10 years ago that everyone likes. Remake the game with good graphics! Yeah, change all the camera angles, make midgar bigger, give us really sarsaparillaty voice acting, and make sure the voices dont match the characters at all! While you're at it, change up the dialoge as much as you can! add some things to the story! Get new music! We dont want old stuff!"

Why the hell would any self respecting Final Fantasy VII fan want them to /remake/ a masterpiece? Would you ask for a remake of the mona lisa, or a remake of Spirted Away? No. Why? Because they're great the way they are. You know what I say? I say, smurf remakes! If you want a remake, prepare to be seriously dissapointed. If you're a real fan, you'll take Final Fantasy VII-the original game for PS1- and you'll cherish it for what it is. You won't ask for any sequels. You won't ask for any prequels. You won't ask for any remakes. Why? Because you don't need anything else besides the original masterpiece to make you feel the way you first did.

Seriously. Find a different game. Play it. Get over FFVII. I don't want to see it suffer any more than it has so far.
