I WANT TO PLAY!!!!
I've read the rules and I seem to get the idea of the game. Are there any sites where I can practice?
Also, I know NOTHING about Harry Potter, so you'll have to excuse that.
EoFF is probably one of the better spots to practice seeing as we don't have too many uber players like I've seen at other spots, I recommend reading up at Mafiascum.net
As long as you know the basic premise of the game, you'll pick up the strategy pretty easily just by playing.
Just reading the basic premise reminded me of a game I played at lunch in high school. Except it was a werewolf and not mafia. But the premise seems the same.
When you say it's Harry Potter themed, how reliant on Harry Potter lore will this be?
Not at all. The theme is just an arbitrary thing we go with as a fun way to name our Mafia accounts. Sometimes the mods will give the game a little flavor by making death scenes appropriate for the theme, but the only important thing you'll need to know is how the game of Mafia works. If you have that, you're golden.

The theme corresponds to the second accounts we will all be receiving to mask our identities. So, if I was playing I may play under the account "[M] Dobby". This becomes useful so no one kills based off identity.
Oh, okay. I can deal with that. I didn't know if I was going to be required to chant some Harry Potter spells or be asked trivia questions before voting for my person to lynch/murder.

The worst you'll have to deal with are Harry Potter jokes you won't get, but those will stop once everyone starts getting super serious.
Like, sign me up. It's a shame Demon Dude can't play though.
