Italian mafia doesn't have nearly as great influence on government as Japanese Yakuza. Japanese Yakuza has several different competing families which have major influence on the government and economy. They all have bad ass tattoos and missing fingers which scare people around them less, and their traditions are thousands of years older. Also, they were able to provide relief faster than the police during major natural disasters.

I think they're just reacting to some of the misconceptions and misinformation in your posts. Details like the Yakuza being "thousands of years" older than the mob, and somehow more noble and honourable despite being just another self-serving organised crime syndicate, with links to everything from assassination and drug running to prostitution and human trafficking.
