    American Beauty

Ok so I looked back about 10 pages and there weren't any recent topics about this movie, so I thought I'd make one.

I saw this quite a while ago and liked it, but didn't think more of it.
A few days ago I bought it and fell in love with it. The way it makes me think about life is amazing...if you haven't watched it I seriously recommend it.

    Anyone else seen it?

It's a really great film, has kind of been forgotten in a way but seeing it again recently reminded me how terrific it was. One of the few films to deserve its Best Picture Oscar.

Curiously though, I note how some of the main people involved in it have seen their careers slide since then (Wes Bentley, Thora Birch), or have barely been in a decent film since (Kevin Spacey) or have directed two films which had Oscar buzz until they were released and everyone saw them (Sam Mendes). The film is perhaps jinxed XD - though Chris Cooper hasn't done badly since then.

One of my absolute favorites. Kevin Spacey's character is smurfing immortal.

Yeah, awesome movie. Haven't seen the first 20 minutes though, it was running on TV and I just got home. Didn't even know it was American Beauty, it just looked interesting.

I love that movie, one of my favorite scenes is where Spacey blackmailed that guy in the office before he was released from work.

It's good, but not very re-watchable. Maybe once every few years.

It's a great movie, and deserved every Oscar it got. Kevin Spacey and Anette Benning are both superb in it. I actually just bought it on DVD, and will probably watch it for the first time in a couple of years next week or something.

Great movie, but i watched it at a very bad time in my life.

Watched it once things got patched up, and it is still as wonderful as i imagined it. At first i was a bit taken back at some parts, but overall, a thought provoking, deep impacting, slightly disturbing movie that every kevin spacey dreams of XD
man, he is amazing in that. Mebbe im too young, but he was the only actor i knew, apart from the neighbor army dad. Definitely a role i didnt expect him to be as.
