Playing FF With Anything but a Controller

Has anyone else done this? I don't have a dance mat, so I can't really say I have. I have tried X with the PS2 remote though.

Jess, I have a recommendation. X-2 on active mode set on "fast" speed with dancepad. You just found yourself a new DDR!

I haven't, but it sounds interesting. I should get out my PS2 steering wheel and see if it will work with FFXII.

lol, i tried FFX with the PS2 DVD remote when it came out, it's definatealy much harder to move around but the menues pose no problems, i was thinking of having a go at it with my DDR pad then i remembered that pad is for the XBox...

I have tried playing X with a guitar hero controller, but for some reason the guitar automatically imitates pressing the down button, making it impossible to get past the first menu, let alone play the game

I bought a playstation controller clone so I don't have to use my keyboard when I emulate FF.

I find that I play video games better while using a keyboard rather than a controller. This difference is unnoticable when playing Final Fantasy games, but it heavily augments my playing capability in fighting games.

You can also play FFXII with gambits, effectively allowing you to play it with one hand... if you're really frickin' lazy.
