If you want to shift the focus to a darker tone (something I'm okay with), I think that would involve increasing the number of original worlds in comparison to Disney ones and placing a greater emphasis on original characters as opposed to the Disney ones (which is what KH2 began to do and why I think you're perceiving it as "darker").
Oh I'm sorry, I didn't necessarily mean by making the Disney characters darker, I should have said they should expand on the background on these characters. I know that Donald has a wife too, he probably doesn't have a kid because he regrets marrying Daisy in the first because she be bugging him too much and if he has a kid by her, he couldn't get himself out of the situation.
