Do you have to get the solomon ring BEFORE going into outer space? I just read somewhere that that was the case. I was lead to believe you could get it at any point.

i think you have to. but if you dont have a convenient save you could keep going and grab doom near the end of disk four

I just beat the game for the second time about 2 weeks ago and I remember I had no issue geting the solomon ring after the space station. Its just laying around at tears point.
