Requiem for a Dream has the best soundtrack.

Gattaca. My other two favorites have been mentioned: Requiem for a Dream and Mononoke.

Also, I really like this one song from The Lion King, I think it's called "This Land", but as for the music with actual singing from that film, no good.

    Rye made this!

I fell in love with Equilibrium's soundtrack for a long while

And love or hate The Matrix. I think the music was really good

The Lion King, Hairspray, Juno, School of Rock, Dirty Dancing, Grease...they're all amazing, really.

I would also like to add Cowboy Bebop: Knockin on Heaven's Door, Gun Shy, Labyrinth, and Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie.

I'm going to cheat a bit... Macross Plus

All the Star Wars scores are pretty excellent as are the Indiana Jones ones. Both of those by John Williams who has produced a lot of the 'classic' film themes. I've also got a soft spot for the soundtrack to Goodbye, Lenin by Yann Tiersen (who I believe, also did Amelie). Worth mentioning is The Producers, simply for the song Springtime for Hitler.
Not my words Carol, the words of Top Gear magazine.
