I had no idea we had ads that large going up on EoFF. It's probably something the Site Staff should talk to Warren about immediately.
I don't think the place looks dull, personally, although I do agree that it could use a bit more mixed in with the left-side menu.

Ads are not my fault and there's very little I can do about them, as for the other things, I'm going to try and right-align the top banner ad so it covers less of the detail in the top banner as well as play about with some of the content design too, although this is going to take a few weeks to get everything sorted cos slow fox is slow ^o^

An interesting idea for the banner problem would be to do the same thing they did back in the early days, having a seperate area for the 'banner ad'.
Eyes on Final Fantasy Naturally it would require some further effort in design but it might be doable. Not sure if it would look much better, though... as I said earlier, talk to Warren and see what he says.

I agree with BoB. If an ad is necessary it should in no way interfere with any artwork. That is just so tacky. If that can be fixed it would be 100% better.
Those huge ads though are the utmost of tacky. I can also see our registered member list dropping if we continue having those. What are Warren and Co. thinking?

It might be because ads get recycled. Same thing happens when I visit sites regularly with new ads. Just keep adblocking and sooner or later they should stop appearing. Edit- Only if you can adblock frames or images.
It doesn't always work, since half of the time, the ads don't appear as an image, but text links. Some are in frames, some are not. Depends on the roll.
Two cents: color scheme got an upgrade, but the general layout and viewer friendliness dropped (more than one grade, too). I suggest Sephiroth spam in order to lure all of the stupid sheep. Ads need to be moved around as to not to interfere with content; having a whole section on the side the whole page down would probably be much better than a big giant thing at the top. Alternatively, you could just stick a couple of picture of the FF girls and great tentacle rape, and watch the money pile up, but that probably wouldn't be the best of ideas.
Seriously, I have no control over the ad placement, this was discussed when I first started and trust me my language in the discussion about it all was not something I could repost in the public part of the forum, but I was flat out told they cannot be moved and must be worked around so I've tried my best. If you would like to see an altertion to the ads I would recommend PM'ing Warren and Co and speaking to them about it. As for the other suggestions I'll try my best to get them added and sorted.

Black orbs banner is fantastic. The ad placement sucks balls. Not much I can say about the general layout that I haven't said before.

It certainly isn't as interesting as before. Simple solution, change the spacing between items, a few fonts here and there, or even the color scheme. Of course, the ideal setting is not quite as simple to explain. It's less user friendly because when you hover over the links on the side, you can't actually tell that they are links unless you were paying attention (I also work under the assumption that people are idiots). Okay, so they aren't links and are drop-down menus, I can certainly imagine someone not knowing what just happened when they do something stupid or their browser starts going haywire.
Of course, those are my justifications for my feedback. I have no real solution, so you can just go ahead and ignore me; it's not like I use the frontsite.

I wonder why you can't just have the ad placement similar to the forum though. Right below the banner. A long short one above the content. The one ad I see isn't obnoxious except that its right over the banner. But its the same banner on this forum skin. The ad here doesn't do anything to it here
It's much better than the one before. I think the imvu ad makes the banner look terrible though.If it could be moved it would look much better. =/
