Neither picture is that new considering both were in scans of Famitsu.

Look at the face above the portrait and the portrait itself! It looks like a Death spell from the previous FF, although the reflection of the portrait doesn't seem to be the same as the white-dress girl behind.

I do believe that's intentional. Isn't that supposed to be a painting of the Goddess of Death?

oh, i'm sure it's completely pointless. just a random god of death painting minding it's own business. or it could, ya know, have something to do with the game. but yeah, it is nice to see something amano's done actually be in the damn game. a rare occurence, but a pleasant one.
