Default Revenant Wings is hard. NEEDS HALP! (Chapter 9)

Seriously. Is there anyway to level in this game other then continually failing missions (which is quite a lame way for me to level :weep. I'm very, very stuck on mission 9-2 (or 9-3 or something the one where you have to continually defeat the spawning Carbuncles, Diablos, and melee-thingys). Does anyone have a good strategy or esper lineup for this mission. (I've tried a few, I have basically all the Espers available, I just can't win.) My average level is about mid 40s, and I normally use Vaan, Llyud, Penelo, Kytes, and Balthier.

*yawn* Oh yeah, RW is wuite a good game, bit boring though after a while.

I was at least Level 49 to 55 when I did that one. I always used a party of this:

    Basch (With Shining Ray)
    Penelo (All Moves available)
    Kytes (With Flare)
Filo/Lloyd (I don't know if Lloyd is forced to fight)
    "Your Choice" (I choose Balthier)

Espers should be those with a type Majority. So say there were 3 melee types and 2 flying types. Have your rank 3 and two espers be flying to kill off the melee types (except make space for Carbuncle) and have the lower rank for the other TYPES, yes, still have the type which ain't strong against both, youd still want all three.

Of course, include elements as well.

With equipment, you should make sure to do the side quests as Most of the characters Best weapons and clothing are there. Crafting the best weapons you can with the best materials owes more attack power than the "Best weapons".

For the actual battle, I have no clue. Its been a while since I finished this game so, ask someone else that.

I have the strategy guide, here's their strategy for 9-3.

Use ranged units with large area attack abilities, of any element. Shiva is a good Rank III esper. Kytes is good with Blizzaga. Use a good balanced unit mix. Take control of both summon gates, then move to the sport in front of Feolthanos, finish them. Good luck!

After trying that strategy, I request that you watch this video please...

Fran sucked in this game, I never used her to be honest

Golden, doing most side missions helped, as well as doing monster melees as well.

I haven't done that for a while but I remember Basch being useful all the way through.

I haven't got that far yet (I'm only on chapter 4 ;_; ) but doing monster melees for a few areas would probably help. That's what I plan to do when I need to level up.

I've done most of the side missions except a few which I just can't beat (Zalera ). How do you do monster melees? I've done one before because it appeared on Tomaj's list but other then that I've never done them. :o

They make it sounds so easy. Shiva did work quite nicely but not enough to win :o

EDIT: You can fight enemies just by going back to old places... No wonder why I was constantly underleveled xD

Yeah Zerase was impossible, I don't know if I did her myself.
It was all the zombies she summoned.

I tried to distract the zombies and send in bombs like I did against Mydia but Zalera would instantly kill the bombs before they'd self-destruct :o

You do them by going to, say, Tormelados island, then go to any destination, once you get to the place ( like the shrine) tap the location and you can fight in monster, summoning and more.

Midlight's Deep is a very good place to level. However, its also kinda hard. But even if you lose, you still get great exp there.

    Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

It gets so annoying, especially when your travelling and there are no power sockets near by.
