ExDeath's line in the newest trailer: "I will make you wander the dimensions!"
... makes me seriously think about that remark and about how "Bartz and ExDeath's story will differ greatly from all the rest."

Conspiracy theory time...
Cecil's weapon in this game appears to be a lance, even the DK version seems to be using what appears to be more of a lance than a sword. Both actually have swords equipped but neither form seems to use them. My theory is that the lance actually belongs to Kain. I think it would be a nice nod to one of the FF favorites and also cause it changes up the play styles more cause only Cecil and Zidane seem to be using weapons that are not swords. :rolleyes2

Actually, in the artwork for IV, DK Cecil had a spear and Paladin Cecil had a staff (Rosa). Dissidia models follow the Amano art exactly (cept Bartz)

It also opens the door to having Kain as a "bonus character" based on Cecil. A costume-swap, basically. The same could work for a few of the other characters, too...
