Thread: Best Main Villain's Entrance

  1. #1

    Default Best Main Villain's Entrance

Think about the first time those villains appeared in the story, the first time you saw them on the screen. And answer this question: Who do you think have the best entrance in the story, and why?

It can be because it was a funny entrance, or a weird one, or because the villain was very mysterious, or intimidating, or badass, or whatever!

    Go on, vote!

Garland's 'knock you down' was great for both comedic value and the amount of fear it inspired in me.

My immediate thought was Kuja, because very little is given away, the scenes in Burmecia are awesome and it really allowed him to remain a mystery until later in the game. Edea's was pretty nice as well, what with the creepy music in the background. Sin's total decimation of Zanarkand was pretty impressive the first time around when you don't expect it and still visually impressive now, but I don't think it really ranks that highly with me. Vayne's wasn't terribly spectacular, but served as a decent introduction to his character at least.
Not my words Carol, the words of Top Gear magazine.

Thinking it through, I don't think any of the main villain entrances was as spectacular as they ought to be. I voted Kuja, because at least he had style.

Easily Kuja, out of the ones I have played. I mean, the party was lying at his feet, the music starts, and he just walks away with style, gets on his silver dragon and flies away. All in gorgeous FMV:

"They said this day would never come. They said our sights were set too high. They said this country was too divided, too disillusioned to ever come around a common purpose. But on this January night, at this defining moment in history, you have done what the cynics said we couldn't do." - Barack Obama.

Yeah, so it doesn't count as an entrance.

    @ sephiroth post.

I think Kuja made the best entrance as well.

I agree Kuja had a cool entrance, i love the way all your characters are down after being thrased by Beatrix, you think shes unstoppable then suddenly and even more powerful looking guy is introduced

If I was like Cloud I don't think I would have taken that test.
Changed to stop Jessweeee♪ from going insane. Is that better?

It depends on what counts as the main entrance for Kefka. :P If it's the scene where Kefka arrives at Figaro Castle ("Ahem... there's SAND on my boots!") then Kefka. If it's Terra's flashback, then probably Kuja. Or maybe Vayne. It really sets the tone of the game during his opening speech where you can't tell if he's the bad guy or not. xP Of course, Sin DESTROYING A CITY was pretty badass.

    It's hard to choose. xD

I think Sephiroth's introduction was handled quite well. The references to him and his power, and then you see him wipe out a dragon, while you deal it about 3 damage.

But Sin has probably got the most badass entrance. And I think the best.
