Ogre Battle March of the Black Queen. One of my fav. games of all time, seriously. I am replaying it for like the millionth time. Have any of you played it? What alignments do you prefer? What class combos do you like? Discuss

yeaaahhhh this game's mad good, unfortunately i haven't beaten it yet.

I think I got maybe to chapter 6 or so... i never really got into the strategy of squad building and stuff, so it got the point where i felt it wasn't worth the effort.

But it's real cool to see Matsuno's early work, and names he later used like Ashe and Zeltennia. Apparently the game is the first appearance of (SPOILER)The Zodiac Stones

Yeah, that game is epic.

13 endings on an SNES game, a large variety of classes, terrain specific abilities, all the different movement types. There was a LOT of in that for an SNES game.

Easilly one of the strongest possible units is 2 PAladians/Ninja Masters in the front row, 2 Liches and 1 princes in the back, and set the princess to leader.

You will have EVERY offensive based covered.

All hitting Elemental, including dark, magics from the liches, all hitting holy from the Princess, and two durable/Agile tanks that deal good physical damage. And with the Princess giving everyone an additional attack, thats 4 per paladin, 4 per lich, and 2 for the princess, giving you 8 single hitting MElee, and 10 all hitting magic attacks, for 18 attacks in a single battle, all of which cause at least good damage.

Though to actually GET 2 liches is a feet and a half, and it's plausible to never get a crown by end game either for the Princess, so this unit is a longshot to make.

One of personal favorite "evil" units combos is a Lich as a leader with Phantoms as his escorts. You get a unit with Low Sky movement(mobility) A boat load of attacks, and if for some reason you are fighting a cleric class and they successfully turn all of your undead, the Lich is so self sufficient that you can destroy the unit anyway...Then you can just recruit new undead from anywhere on the map. I love the Lich.
However, I would def. agree that the Princess is a far superior unit. She gets 1 Hit All Holy based attack in the back row, she can recruit angels which are a great class, and even the Faerie that has its merits if you can class change it quickly. Not only does she have that going for her, but because of her awesomeness she grants each unit an extra attack, including herself. Awesomeness. It is rather hard to find the crowns though, but I do know of a sure way to get one in the middle of the game if anyone is interested. I can PM you or vice versa because it is a huge spoiler that I don't wanna write in here.

You have to have a high Ali though, so you have to play a certain way to get it.

But meh, I probably won't play it again for quite some time anyway.

Truee. I tend to always end up with the "goodly" leader with "goody goody" units which is why I always get it. I have yet to have a play through and recruit Deneb or Galf, the other evil evil person. I think I might aspire for that in this play through

I never really played it for more than an hour or so. Purty graphics, though. I like the name.

It's an awesome game. I've never finished it though. I should go back sometime and finish the game.

Such a toughie.

I am a big fan f the ice Dragons, but I'm going to go ahead and say Muse. Hood HP and defenses, coupled with that strong hitting Thunder magic.

I'd say Lich, but they are just so cheap.
