    Default Point of no return

Is there one in this game?

I'm in The Rift now, and I haven't played it in a year and I don't remember if it's possible to get out or not. My latest save point is in a castle. Bal Castle I think it was. Is there a save point beyond this? I checked a walkthrough, but it didn't mention one, so I assume maybe I'm on the last one. I don't want to proceed only to get whipped by the last boss and lose all my precious ABP, I hate doing things over again.

You can get out of the Rift once you enter. It even gives a silly message: "the flow of time has reversed" or something, to give an explanation after you leave.

the point of no-return is pretty far out there. Like up until the screen where you're going around all these rocks and there's a starry background behind you. Otherwise, how would you get all the dragon lances to make it easy to kill shinryuu?

There is no point of no return. You can initiatate the final cutscene with X-death and STILL turn around and walk out to save before battling him.

If you back track from the X-zone to the interdimensional rift you can just use the time magic spell "return" to exit back into the 3rd world
