Thread: Where Do You Live?

  1. #1

    Default Where Do You Live?

I'm not asking for specific locations here. :rolleyes2

What kind of area is your house in, relative to nearby civilization? Do you live hours from anywhere? Live in the country, but town is a very short distance away? What about a booming metropolis?

I live in a small town, but I'm getting ready to move to a not as small town. One day, I plan to move to a big city though.

Home home to me is the fastest growing large city in America, or at least was from 2000-2006. It is not a metropolis, but it's part of the "Metroplex," that I guess, for intensive purposes, is one very, very large metropolis.

My secondary home is also a city, though by no means as large as my home home (120,000).

Home right now is in between the two, though of course certainly a city.

EDIT: By Wiki's definitions of metropolis (half a mil in city proper, mil in urban area), Fort Worth is definitely a metropolis (702,000 and 6,000,000, respectively).

You'll have to guess based on the votes in the poll. You think I'd actually tell... :rolleyes2

Okay, fine. I promised a few EoFFers that I'd stop being so secretive. I live in a city.

A small town. Not really a whole lot to do, but there's other stuff pretty close by.

compared to home, fayetteville is a metropolis (several "big" cities all lumped really close together? hello NWA! fayetteville, rogers, bentonville, springdale!) but I'll just vote city xD

The Arkansan definition of a "big" city, of course, is a place that has one or more 5A schools.

A small rural-ish town very close to Fort Wayne. I said 'the country, but town is just over there', though. It's hard to answer questions like these when you live in two separate houses back and forth every day. My dad lives in the small town, and to get to the suburban area where my mom lives, you have to either drive through what is a really really rundown old town, or go through country roads, where the only things you see this time of year on both sides are two walls of corn, with the occasional barn, church, or home speckled throughout.

However, the small town is considered a tourist attraction for antique collectors. I personally wonder why people from around the nation in their right minds would come around here. It's beyond me.

Born in Queens, NY which is the outskirts of Manhattan.
Moved to (Ryetown), NY which is a cute rich little suburb town about an hour outside of Manhattan.
Currently live in Kingstown, Rhode Island, which is boring and empty and rural.

I used to live in a small city, but soon after, my parents moved us out to the country a few minutes from time. It is quite desolate out here, though. And I have to have crappy satellite internet.

I live in a city and it's pretty much close to anything - to get to the mall and such it's only a fifteen-minute walk. Though, to get to uni I need to travel about an hour by train.

Legally, a city. It doesn't feel remotely close to civilization most of the time though.
