    The Darkness within us all...

I'm certain there have been a few threads about this but here goes...

So I have been playing Kingdom Hearts II again recently, generally having fun and I'm already up to Hades world. This time around I hope to be more consistent with the Drive Forms as I rarely used them my first playthrough.

I do a bit of research on how to level them and in doing so, I get reminded of Sora's awesome Anti-Form. Granted it has some serious setbacks but I feel if you are skilled enough, its a frighteningly powerful form.

My question is this though... Does the introduction of this form perhaps a hint of something darker in the future of Sora? Or do you believe it is nothing more than an affirmation of his short time as a Heartless and nothing more? Granted, the story doesn't ever clarify it nor even bring it up so it may even be likely to be nothing short of just a simple game mechanic to keep players from spamming the ungodly Drive Forms.

My second question is simply this: Name the worst scenario you've been in with when the Anti-Form appeared?

    1) As you said, Anti-Form is likely nothing more than a way to make people not spam the forms. It's probably a throwback to when he was a heartless for 10 minutes, but likely has nothing to do with the story.

    2) I was very close to beating Xaldin. I went into a form (I think Master, not sure), and then I went Anti-Form. And then Xaldin started his chain of attacks where he's invincible, and spammed the hell out of them. Mickey had to save me.

    1. I think that if you go Yen Sid's tower and then go into the room where Sora got his new clothes, there are five mirrors, one representing each of the Drives. If you examine the one for Anti-Form, I think it gives a description that says something like "In this mirror, you see yourself being overcome by darkness." That's the only story related thing I can think of.

    2. It really sucked when I got Anti-Form against Xaldin or Demyx. I think the worst was when I got Anti-Form against Demyx followed by the "Kill 10 water clones in 10 seconds" challenge. No Wild Dance RC for me.

It is quite powerful and fast, but the drawbacks of taking twice the normal amount of damage, not being able to use Magic or Abilities, not being able to pick up HP orbs, and not being able to use Reaction Commands greatly outweigh the benefits.

Though there is one thing about Anti-Form that interests me. Anti-Form is the only way to give yourself the EXP 0 ability, (Unless you hack it, or play KH2FM) and one could use Anti-Form in forced battles to reduce the amount of exp received and play through the game at quite a low level. I guess this would be the only way to mimic KH2FM's Critical Mode challenge.

These are the correct answers. Oddly enough, it's more reliable to reliably generate Anti-Form by getting hit during transit.

Oddly enough, I've never had a bit situation where Anti-Form showed up. Whenever it did, which was never in a boss battle anyways, I found it increased my DPS. And my IAS, but that doesn't quite count.

I just remembered that Sora mentions the Darkness in his heart during the ending when he speaks with Riku on the beach of nothingness before that cursed door of light appeared and ruined the ending.

    1. Yes. (though, there is a possibility a darker nature for Sora is in store in the near future)
    2. Yes.
    Yes
    Jack: How do you know?

Will: It's more of a feeling really.

Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?

    Will: No.

If Demolition Man were remade today

Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
    Huxley: NO!
    Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
    Spartan: But Huxley.
    Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.

The first time I got anti form I hadnt before seem master form (Which i had just got) and i assumed my hand slipped and that was master form. Needless to say i thought master form really sucked and didnt use it for a while untill anti form happened again and i doubted my finger slipped a second time.
