you have to wait until the very last second to leave the floating continent basically.
(SPOILER)At the Floating continent, when you have the timer and have to escape. Get to the end and when asked to leave or wait, choose wait. Try to leave again and again choose wait and this time Celes will say "We need to wait for Shadow" at this point wait and when you get to the last ten seconds, the timer disappears and Shadow shows up to leave with you.Originally Posted by Biukin
In the WoR. Shadow is the one found in the cave on the Veldt instead of Relm. Rescue him form the Behemoths and you will take him back to Thamasa where he recuperates in Strago's house. Later he will disappear. If you found the Striker (I don't remember what it was called in the GBA version) in the cave on the Veldt, go to the Coliseum and bet it. You will face Shadow in a fight and he will join you afterwards.
