I know the difference between there, they're and their. I know the difference between your, and you're. Often I'm just too lazy to make sure I use them right, but I honestly never learned the difference between were, and where. I understand wear obviously, but the other two really get me.

It's kinda really basic and embarrassing so please don't make fun of me D:

I'll make fun of you for it as much as I want, because it's basic. Then again, you are 'invicible'.

It really isn't that hard to simply read over your post and check for errors.

Thanks for not answering my question

I just want to know the difference between were and where, like I understand one is location and one is time, but I forget which is which.

I didn't think you were being entirely serious.

I guess, if you wanted some sort of little trick, you could think 'okay, to be is like the shortest verb ever. were is shorter than where. ergo, were is the past tense of to be'

If you can't always remember how it goes when writing or typing, sound it out in your head. Were, where, and we're all sound different from each other, the one that sounds the best is usually the right one. True homophones are the ones that suck.

Well "were" sounds like wurr and "where" sounds like wehrr! Also "were" is a verb and "where" is an adverb!

This seems like a surprising thing to misunderstand. Is English not your first language?
    :/

Others have given good advice about how to tell the difference.

It is, but I've always been awful with spelling and I just recently started to care about spelling and grammar.
