Thread: Birthday Presents For Online Friends

Default Birthday Presents For Online Friends

So say you were planning to give someone you know online a birthday present. What exactly would you give them? An E-Card, an animated sprite that they'd like, a phone call wishing them a happy birthday?

I'm not exactly satisfied with simply wishing really good online friends happy birthday. Especially when they've done so much for me and I've done so little for them which is why I want you people to help me out.

Either a well placed goatse or a torrent. Invariably the torrent should contain something that the victim would rather not have seen.

Goatse is overdone by this point. Everyone has seen it.

It calls for more extreme displays.

People buy me stuff for Livejournal, because they all know what an addict I am. I love paid accounts and 100+ icon gifts.

Traditional gifts online include some sort of digital art, or traditional art turned digital, songs written, e-cards, phone calls, birthday cards in the mail, etc

I don't have any good "online friends" anymore. Most of them turned in to long distance friends :P Phone conversations and the occasional visit are way more common than AIM conversations now.

If you have their address send them a birthday card and a small gift. Like a burnt CD or something.

If you don't have an address. Write or draw them something. Even something very minor shows people you appreciate them.

E-cards are the height of lameness. A sappy "you're a great friend" email would be better. Real letters or gifts are better, because bridging that gap between the intangible and the real is significant!

Money via PayPal is a great gift.

My birthday is 6.30, by the way.

I have bought birthday presents for online friends in many instances. I need to have their mailing address, too, or else I would not bother buying a gift.
I believe in the power of humanity.
