I'm partial to Jun's Senko Jin even if it's a bad move.

My favorite Purify Weird Soul is Ether Strike. Freya can do a lot of damage with only a single strike!
I believe in the power of humanity.

My only interest in either game is discovering all the characters. If there were a list available which stated all in-game given information for the characters, I wouldn't bother playing the games. Actually, I like the play-mechanics of Silmeria better than Lenneth. When I started playing Lenneth, I was pretty disappointed. I especially disliked the fact that the information on attainable characters was rather shallow compared to that available in Silmeria.
    Jack: How do you know?

Will: It's more of a feeling really.

Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?

    Will: No.

If Demolition Man were remade today

Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
    Huxley: NO!
    Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
    Spartan: But Huxley.
    Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.

    >>> The characters in VP are far more interesting than those from VP Silmeria.
The einherjar in Silmeria were too generic.

I completely agree with black orb here. They felt like filler.
Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky me again! I hardly knew I should use me feet again!

What do you have to say for yourself?

I need to finish this game sometime. I have the PSP version, though.

HINT: Load times are decreased if you tell your PSP to keep a memory cache.

I do wish the Ein had a little more storyline (Mind you, the more you unlock you get sort of a timeline of past events, which is enough) to love 'em by in Silmeria... but I suppose they've already gone through the whole death process..

Ironically, I made Zunde my main (Guy goes into cave to slay dragon, guy dies xD).

edit: I also like the gameplay of Silmeria more than Lenneth.

    *brings up thread again*

This game rules. The only two bad things about it is the fact that the "true ending" is a real pain to get (or maybe rather... almost impossible to get unless you follow a guide) and the fact that the Seraphic Gate is far too easy and short. They should at least have made it like in VP2, where the enemies get harder and harder each time you run trough it.

Fav party: Lenneth, Freya (in Seraphic Gate, otherwise Aelia), Arngrim and Mystina.

Fav move: Meteor Swarm. I just love that move... in both VP1 and VP2... and SO3 too for that matter. VERY RELEATED!<(VP2's Meteor Swarm aka the most badass move ever)

Keep in mind this was the first Valkyrie Profile in the series. When they made Silmeria, they had a much better understanding of what to do and how to handle their characterization [although most of the Einherjar still felt pretty generic and abundant to me]. Also, the manner in which the characters were introduced in VP: Lenneth was pretty unique, to the point where they didn't quite know how to handle it properly. I still appreciate their attempt though.

The voice acting isn't perfect of course, but I actually didn't mind it. I actually liked Freya's and Lenneth's voice actresses, though I didn't like the others. Also, do keep in mind that it does little use to compare the voice acting to Star Ocean 2, as I can't think of any game with worse voice acting than Star Ocean 2.

I did notice that the characters towards the beginning had deeper story, then as the game progressed, you'd get less background information on the characters you picked up. Perhaps this was due to space limitations? Or perhaps they didn't want to bog the player down with information s/he may consider irrelevant? Either way, I still appreciated the dark and more serious tone this game took as opposed to Silmeria. Down to the characters, down to the storyline, down to the music itself [which created a beautiful soundtrack in my opinion, as there are very few musics I don't enjoy from this game], Lenneth had a more serious tone than Silmeria.

My favourite in-game party: Lenneth, Lucian, Arngrim, Mystina.
My favourite Seraphic Gate party: Lenneth, Lucian, Freya, Mystina.
My favourite Dungeons: The Celestial Castle, Arionrod Labyrithn, Tower of Lezard Valeth
My favourite Purify Weird Souls: It's a cross between Nibelung Valesti and Ether Strike. I guess these are the most expected and typical attacks to love, but I can't help it. They're awesome.
My favourite attacks: Freya's Thunder Sword and Lucian's Shining Bolt are hands-down the best attacks in the entire game.
Favourite Einherjar: Mystina and Lucian. Lucian's a sweetheart, and Mystina is a vicious bitch, but in a refined and dignified way. I loved how strong and spirited she was.
Least favourite character: Badrach. I honestly didn't dislike any character in the game, except Badrach.
Least favourite dungeon: Citadel of Flame.

I loved this game so much. I replayed it twice because I just really enjoyed it. Although Valkyrie Profile 2 had more going for it, for some reason I didn't like it as much.

I really enjoyed the voice acting, with the exception of maybe one or two characters (but even they at least sound hilarious so it's not all lost). I wish I would see the same VAs again, but the only one I've ever heard in stuff I play or watch nowadays is Megan Hollingshead. Ironically I thought she sounded worse as Valkyrie in the other two VP games, she just didn't put much emotion into it like the first time.

I think you will like VP: Covenant of the Plume. It takes the dark/morbid storyline to a whole new level, plus it re-uses a lot of music from VP1.

My favourite in-game party: Lenneth, Lucian, Arngrim/Janus/Lawfer, Mystina.
My favourite Seraphic Gate party: Lenneth, Lucian, Arngrim/Janus/Lawfer, Mystina.
My favourite Dungeons: The Celestial Castle, Palace of the Dragon, Cave of Thackus
My favourite Purify Weird Souls: Jun's Senko-jin (stream of numbers), Lawfer's Justice Stream, Aelia's Dreaded Dragon
My favourite attacks: Lucian's Shining Bolt (crystal/gem factory), Janus's Diseased Needle and Restrain Flame (poison and +50 heat)
Favourite Einherjar: Maybe Mystina, she has hilarious battle quotes. They're kind of hard to hear sometimes though.
Least favourite character: Odin, 'cause he's a jerk.
Least favourite dungeon: Tombs of Amenti, Tower of Lezard Valeth

I love when Freya's talking to you during the Sacred Phase intervals. Especially if she's happy with the warriors you're sending her, she goes "about your performance...

It is magnificent!!!!!!" with a smiley face. She's so cute like that.
