Rick Astley recently sat down with us here at YouTube to discuss possible 'retirement' of his now internet-famous Never Gonna Give You Up music video. The video started the phenomenon known as the 'Rick Roll' where internet users would send their friends unspecified links leading to a video of young Rick dancing with a woman and crooning that he will never give you up. On April 1st we caused every featured video to link to Rick, effectively Rick Rolling nearly all of our users.

YT: So what you're saying is that you think the Rick Roll is over?
RA: Exactly. It's been really fun, and I even received the best act of all time award from MTV. But I think I've had my fun. Honestly, I'm a bit sick of it all.
YT: We still receive thousands of hits on your video everyday, there are still people who enjoy Rick Rolling their friends.
RA: Yes, but it's not fun for me anymore. I was a good sport in the beginning, but when you run into yourself online all the time, it eventually gets old. I think it's time to make way for a new phenomenon.
