I picked IX. Even though Seven was the first I had ever played, and what got me into the series, I'd say nine is the most balanced and fun. I liked the ability system, it had a lot of summonings which was a good thing. Chocobo Hot and Cold is one of my favorite side quests ever. Also, Hilda Garde and the Invincible were two of my favorite airships ever.
