Thread: Recommended level for facing Zeromus

Default Recommended level for facing Zeromus

Well I tried to get through the game on as low a level as possible (for me), but now I'm completely stumped, and at the last boss too. I really don't want to leave the game without completing it, especially when I've come so far. So I'm just wondering what would be your recomendations regarding levels. I currently have Kain lvl39, Rosa and Edge lvl38, and Cecil and Rydia lvl37.
What level would I have to aim for to even have a chance at beating Zeromus? Thanks in advance

Cheers to Polaris for the set!

You're going to have to close to double those levels. Most versions of the game have something close to if not above the 60s. Variability may occur based on your sense of timing, mastery of game mechanics, and damage reduction items. I'm not sure how the DS levels scale compared to the SNES, PSX, or GBA versions, but the SNES and PSX versions were closer to the 70s when I played.

Considering that you won't even have Rydia learn meteor until level 70 in this version (it was 60 in all the others) you're going to have a tough tough time. I'd say mid 60's. But with such low levels, you should be able to get that in no time. I got to level 60 by just playing through the story.

I thought Rydia learned meteor at level 80.

Mid 40's easily if you know the game very well and have a lot of the ultimate gear. At least on the SNES/GBA/PSX versions, I don't know the DS yet.

Though if your not very seasoned at the game 50+ is a good range. Anything beyond 60 though is excessive. You can beat the optional bosses in the GBA version 60+ and their far harder then Zeromus.

If you're not experienced and are coming to this fight around the first and second time.

    I'd say Mid/Late 50s.

    I'd say from 60es to 80es.

I just beat this game for the first time 2 nights ago. It was the GBA version. I was in mid-50's. Just my 2 cents.

DS version: You don't stand a chance until 70+. Before that, Zeromus will mow you down with Big bang, or if you got him down to below 30000 hp, Meteor and MT-tornado.

Original: at least 60+, He doesn't cast Meteo in this version if I recall correctly

FF2: You, the man of darkness leveling it means nothing to him, you fool.

There is a chance your stats will actually go down once you reach Level 70. So unless you are paying attention to that 70 should be sufficient.
