Thread: Don't put to many different Elder Scrolls saves on your hard drive

Default Don't put to many different Elder Scrolls saves on your hard drive

I looked at the back of the case for my Oblivian game and saw that it takes like 4 gigabytes to save your game. Wow! That's alot. It makes your 80 gig hard drive seem not so big anymore when you think of it like that.

Why does it take that much memory to just save your game though?

Erm, no it doesn't. It takes 4 gigs to install the game, not for every save file. If it were that size it'd be the most inefficient save system ever. Or some kind of universe simulation program.

The Oblivion save files take up around three megabytes each.

It's been a loooong time since 80 GB was a lot of storage space, especially on a desktop computer. 500 is more or less the standard now, even in cheap systems.

I play my Oblivian game on my ps3 so that was what I was referring to when I said 80g's. When I looked at the back of my Oblivian case and saw that it required 4g's of free space I thought it was referring to saved games since you do not install games onto your ps3's.

I guess they don't change the wording much between the cases of the cpu games, and console games.

Actually, quite a few Playstation 3 games have optional or required installations onto the harddrive.
