Hugs or Kisses?

So, overall, which do you prefer as a show of affection?

I vastly prefer hugs. They seem so much more affectionate to me, like you're being blanketed in love. You can also give hugs to a far greater amount of people than kisses, but then, maybe that's why people might prefer kisses. They're more selective and more intimate?

Personally, I prefer kisses, but that's mostly because they are far more rare to me than hugs.

I'm never in any shortage of hugs. If I need one there's always somebody to give it to me. A kiss should not be given out freely simply because then it cheapens the act.

I have a tendency to categorize actions hierarchically such that my reaction to events are consistent with their perceived importance (ie I won't throw a tantrum over spilled(spilt) milk). So if something like, for example, kissing became a regular event, I would need to escalate affectionate activity in order for it to be as meaningful as a kiss once was.

It is honestly a source of conflict in relationships for me.

There is just something about holding someone in your arms that make me feel complete.

Kissing is fine too but I find myself wanting to surprise a woman with a kiss more often than I actually want to have her kiss me back.

I voted kisses. However...

I really enjoy being hugged and whilst it is stipulated we can hug more people than we can kiss it depends on what type of kiss we refer to for example if one of my female friends does something totally cute/stupid I might give her a quick hug and a kiss on the head along with the lines "there there, don't worry the men in white coats will be here shortly" this whilst very affectionate for me is not romantic however plenty of other people I know consider this action to be romantic.

I have a very blurry line when it comes to romantic - affectionate gestures I guess.
