If Terra can fly in Esper form, she couldve saved us alot of time in the dungeons where we have to push switches to open paths or if we were blocked by lava and such! Why didnt she use this ability more often?
I think it was sabotage! She's in cahoots with the Big K!!

Perhaps flying would require too much magic, which is probably why she didn't fly as often. But hey, what do I know?

Well, there's the wasting esper-juice or whatever argument. Then there's the fact that she probably wouldn't have been able to carry the entire party (plus swords and armor) on her back. Or maybe, just maybe, it could be for the same reason that you can't jump over chairs and chests or walk over tables, and you can hold hundreds and hundreds of suits of armor in one bag etc. Because it's a God damn video game.
She couldve pushed the buttons for us or scouted ahead. And i never use her esper form anyway so she should have plenty of esper energy saved up.

To scout up ahead and push buttons requires her to love her teammates, and she doesn't know what love is.
In the end if you dont pick her up she flies to 'rescue' you from the tower.
In reality she realised that Kefka had been defeated and decided to make some last minute changes in alliance!
She's had you all hoodwinked!
