In the World of Ruin

Umaro - Get Mog, go up to where the frozen esper is and fight it, then when it's gone walk up to the edge of the cliff and you can jump down. I dont know the specifics of the cave but search around and there'll be a skull on a stick or something, examine it, try to leave and you shall be attacked by a yeti, once you defeat it, if you have Mog in your party he'll join you. If you dont then you can come back with Mog and talk to him

Gogo - At the top right of the world map there is an island. Walk around and you will be attacked by the zone eater and just sit here and he'll 'eat' you. You'll end up in a cave, once again I can not describe the specifics but at the end you get Adlai Stevenson.

To get Umaro the Yeti, go to Narshe and make sure Mog is in your party. Mog can be acquired in Narshe by going through the back entrance that Locke used to get Terra out of there in the beginning of the game. He will be in the former Moogle village.

Take Mog all the way to the top of Narshe where the frozen esper lies. Battle him and then check the ground where the esper once stood. You will hear a switch sound and the edge of the cliff will shorten abit. Examine it and you will fall into a deeper part of the Mines. There are alot of traps and Tonberrys in this area so be careful. You can acquire the Minerva armor in chest that is guarded by three Master Tonberry's. Eventually you will see a skull on a pike. Examine the skull and you will acquire the Terrato/Midgard Zolom Magicite. Umaro should appear and attack you for trying to steal his treasure. Defeat him and after the battle, Mog will straighten him out and get him to join your party.

Umaro is a Berzerker character. You cannot change his equipment but you can change his relics. He has two, the Fury Ring and the Blizzard Orb.

For Gogo the Mime, head to the island in the top right corner that looks like a triangle. Wander around until you encounter a worm monster. Now here is the trick, you must let the worm monster eat your entire party. Once this has happen you awaken in a cavern under the surface of the island. There are some good items here but the monsters are kinda nasty if you are unprepared. There are also many nasty traps too. At the end of the dungeon you will encounter Gogo. Speak with him/her and he/she will decide to join your party.

Gogo only has Mimic but if you go into his status screen you can customize his ability list. He can use most of other character abilities like Tool and Blitz. If you give him magic, he will only have access to the spells of the party he/she is currently in. Gogo can't use some of the more powerful weapons but you shouldn't underestimate him/her.
