Thread: Questions in FFTA2

  1. #1

    Default Questions in FFTA2

1.) Is a party composed of mageknights good?

Insert any frontliner class here + Insert any magic user / Insert any color, noun here + Mage
(assume everyone has Dual Wield, except the Bishop and the Mog Knight)
Ex: Paladin + Black Mage, Soldier + Black Mage, Blue Mage + Fighter, Bishop + Defender, Chocobo Knight + Mog Knight, etc etc.

2.) What happens if you complete the game in FFTA2? Will you be given a Judge Sword or something?

3.) Someone told me that Seer/Illusionist is the most powerful in game... Is a Red Mage + Summoner + Turbo MP and Double Cast combined + any form of MP restore without using items like Choco Recharge, Ether Cannon, Mantra Magik a good thing or very risky?

    1. I think melee and magic usally don't work. if I remember correctly I tried assasian and summon and she/he didn't have that much MP. 2. When yu beat the game you can get new (harder) missions but it helps if you already did all the other missions. 3. I think it could be a good thing. I don't think its needed cause the battles don't need much to victory over your rivals. Sure if you want a quick kill the more powerful the better. red mages arn't that powerful when it comes to magic so I don't think of it as that great. Though turbo magic and double cast make up for it so it just depends on what you like.

Illusionist/Seer is great for being able to double attack/cast a spell on the entire enemy team (plus it looks awesome). For Red Mage/Summoner, Blood Price is probably more broken since you don't have to wait to use any spells.

What does Mantra Magic do? I don't think I've heard of it.

Mantra Magic is the Blue Magic spell that switches HP and MP I think.

    1) I think it is a very bad idea to have all party members with a similar job at the same time. I like diversity in my party. You don't want 6 mages to run into a battle where the enimies all love to use silence on you. As for the second part, there is no job other then red mage that is specified to mix Physical and Magick abilities. You can always have a physical character equip magic as a secondary ability though if you really want a Black Mage Fighter. Just don't expect the secondary ability to save your party because chances are a character trained in physical classes will be lacking in their magical talents

    2) As previously stated, after the final boss you get to take on harder optional missions and get a few more characters who you might recognize from other Ivalice Games

    3) Well Mantra magic in itself is a very risky strategy, because while it works wonders to raise MP, you are crippled in terms of MP if you start right away with it. I find magick users better suited for tossing spells at the enemy from a good distance, because a strong physical attacker can take them out in 2 turns given the chance. Blood Price is a really great ability though. Just be sure to have a unit heal regularly if you are using it.

My typical class combos go like this:

    1. Ninja/fighter. I know there is a parvir class, but fighter abilities are much better imo.

    2. Redmage/elementalist. Double cast + debuffs = pro

    3. Time mage/black mage. Great combo for the moogle class.

    4. Black mage/white mage. Great combo for the no mou.

    5. Assassin/sniper. Nothing like vanish for 3 turns then killing something in one shot.

    6. Dragoon/defender. Dragoons are sick all by themselves, they have high hp and don't need magic. Defenders have 2 abilities that combo and can potentially take out a lot of units at once. Aura/Melt down. If you use your assassin/time mage to stop units, you can melt down with 100% chance to hit, and it usually one shots them. I have used it to take out 3 targets in one shot.

Then of course your unit gets auto raised and can be healed.
