My smoke dectors battery is going dead... so it's beeping... a lot.

Problem is, we just moved in this house 6 days ago and I don't have any way to shut it up.

I'm to short to reach it, We don't have any chairs or ANYTHING to stand on so I can reach it and we have no batteries.
To make matters worse, the furnitureless house echo's MASSIVELY, so it sounds a lot louder than it actually is.

Oh yeah, and my husbands the only one tall enough to reach it and he won't get home from work til like 5:30... yeah it's almost 11.

Here's hoping he gets to take a lunch and save me from a day of annoying beeping.

Anywho, I'm pretty annoyed by the suckie smoke detector that goes off whenever someone is cooking a lot. >_<

Our detector in the kitchen is mega super sensitive. The blasted thing goes off whenever I make toast! So now we'll probably have a real fire in there and we'll all ignore it thinking "bah, someone's just eating pop tarts or something."

Most biggest annoyance right now is the fact that I am dreadfully sick. I vomited four times last night, making a total of 15 times in the last two weeks, and haven't really eaten anything substantial since because it is extremely hard to stomach things. The smell of most foods make me absolutely sick to my stomach. On top of that, I am exhausted due to lack of sleep last night (waking up every ~10 minutes) and my entire body is sore. I've taken two naps today and still get winded walking to the bathroom. I've also had a headache for two days.
