    Rarely do I clean mine out. Dead names (people whom I haven't seen online for over a year) go in a group labelled "Dead Names". Everything else gets divided by location (internet, school, etc.) and each of those are split into people I talk to and people I don't.

    I just moved a bunch of people to dead names thanks to this thread as inspiration.
